Information
Joseph Matrot, the grandson of vineyard owners in Puligny-Montrachet, settled in Meursault at his wife's family domaine in 1914. Six generations later, the sisters Adèle and Elsa Matrot joined their parents Thierry and Pascale on the domaine. Since 2000, the 22 hectare vineyard has been converted to organic farming.
Precision, intensity and a certain wow-factor define this organically-produced Meursault. It is pale gold in colour, with a complex aromatic bouquet that expresses the identity of its grape variety and its terroir (white flowers, citrus, chalk) as well as the marks of its maturation (toasted nuts, a hint of milkiness). It has a dense palate that is lifted by a superb salinity. A perfect wine to accompany salty dishes or creamy cheese.
