Le Petit Saint Vincent is a family domaine located around the village of Varrains in the heart of the Saumur-Champigny appellation. Dominique Joseph represents the fourth generation of the family and has managed the 12-hectare estate since 1990. The relatively old vines are cover cropped and the grapes are handpicked once they reach optimum maturity.

A friendly wine to savour in its youth, this Saumur-Champigny comes from clay-chalk soil and underwent a vinification just as attentive as its organic-inspired growing. The Cabernet Franc grapes were destemmed and macerated for 8-15 days before fermentation in order to extract the right amount of colour and aroma. The malolactic fermentation took place in concrete vats, as did the 6-month maturation. One thing is sure, the freshness and delicate nature of the grapes’ aromatic notes have been preserved. The wine’s round mouthfeel allows for pairings with simple, flavourful meals like grilled meat or a mushroom dish.
