About the producer

At 800m of altitude, Ridge Vineyards is the highest vineyard in California. This parcel is ideally situated: east-facing and protected from the violent wines of the Pacific. Its altitude also lends a pleasant nighttime coolness allowing the grapes to reach perfect ripeness.

About the wine

Commended by professional critics, this blend of Zinfandel, Syrah, Carignan and Mataro develops a rich aromatic bouquet marked by notes of prune, ripe fruits and liquorice. Its tannic structure gives it nice volume and makes it a good accompaniment for dishes of red meat in sauce. To create it, the domain opted for harvests by hand, destemming, and fermentation with indigenous yeasts. It was matured in barrels.
