Information
Domaine Valentin Zusslin is a longtime darling of critics and wine guides (including Bettane & Desseauve and the RVF). The 16 hectare estate which is based in Orschwihr, just south of Colmar, converted to biodynamic viticulture in 1997. Wines are produced from a total of 9 different grape varieties, featuring crystalline whites and structured Pinot Noirs perfect for cellaring.
This Gewürztraminer Vendanges Tardives comes from the noble terroir of Bollenberg with its gentle south-facing slopes, providing the perfect conditions for grape maturation. There are aromas of rose, lychee, exotic fruit and an especially distinct expression of mandarine on the nose. Unctuous and full-bodied like liquour, in the mid-palate this cuvée reveals deeper layers of candied fruit and a touch of spice on the finish.
