About the producer

Moric Velich is one of the best producers of Blaüfrankisch, a red variety from Austria. His domain is situated to the east of Austria close to the Neusiedl lake. He takes inspiration from Burgundy, the Rhone and Barolo. He works according to biodynamic principles on the different terroirs, some of which include very old vines.

About the wine

The grapes from this cuvée come from very old vines from the Lutzmannburger plain, formed on a volcanic soil composed of sand, clay and limestone. The wine is vinified in vats then raised in casks for 12 months. It has a lovely ruby colour, opening onto ripe red fruits and a nice tannic structure. An elegant, intense wine.
