Information
Simon Bize created his domaine in 1880 in Savigny les Beaune. Four generations later, Patrick Bize took over the family domaine in 1972 and managed it until he passed away in 2013, when his sister, Marielle Grivot, took over. The quality of the wines is consistent, with fine reds, sublime and very precise white wines. This 22-hectare area produces small quantities and maintains reasonable prices, which therefore limits its availability.
Coming from the plot "Les Fourneaux", the Pinot Noir benefits from a very stony soil. Its vermilion hue, its nose with aromas of red fruit, black fruit, spices and violet and its velvety and rich palate make this premier cru the pride of the domain. We suggest you wait a few years before opening and place in a carafe one hour before serving to allow the tannins to melt. It will work wonders paired with tender meat.
