Information
The Courbissac domain would not exist had two friends not met: film producer Reinhard Brundig and grower Marc Tempé, well known in Alsace. Their partnership took root in La Livinière, between the Cévennes and the Montagne Noire. We are in the Minervois, a region that has come to embody the rise in quality of the Languedoc vineyards. The climate is ideal, combining the necessary sunshine with damp, cool nights. Marc Tempé intends this new domain to comply with biodynamic principles, his philosophy being to revive the soil. Manual harvesting and cellar sorting also speak of his wonderfully pure respect for the vines.
The Mourvèdre and Syrah grapes in this blend are the result of a philosophy of sustainable cultivation in the domain's limestone-clay soils at an altitude of 300 metres. They are gently macerated and fermented with native yeasts. The wine is matured for six months in foudre vats. It delivers notes of fresh fruit and cocoa. The palate has energy to spare. Its power is enhanced by an indulgent fleshiness and silky tannins. This wine will be a treat with a tender meat of real character, such as lamb. We would advise you to carafe it before serving, and drink it within its first ten years.
