Information
Christophe Peyrus is one of the co-owners of the Clos Marie. He is therefore a key figure in the Languedoc vineyards, and the Pic Saint-Loup in particular. Never one to turn down a fresh challenge, he acquired parcels of land – still in the Pic Saint-Loup – on high ground in the Cazevieille terroir. This new adventure began with the 2013 vintage, with the help of three partners. The vineyards, which cover just over 6 hectares, are organically cultivated. The wines are very well balanced, with a genuinely exciting freshness. The domain is already receiving critical acclaim after just a few vintages. One to watch carefully.
The Grenache and Syrah in this cuvée have been cultivated on limestone soil following organic methods, although they are not certified organic at the moment. Vinification is traditional and meticulous. The wine skilfully combines density with a crisp texture, and a delicate, fresh finish. Its velvety fruitiness makes it a divine partner to a seven-hour, slow-roast leg of lamb.
