The origins of Château de Brézé can be traced back to the eleventh century and today it is still owned by descendents of the ancient lords of Brézé. The Renaissance style building (restored in the nineteenth century) is listed among France's historical monuments. Ten kilometres from Saumur, Château Brezé's vineyard covers 25 hectares and is planted with Chenin and Cabernet Franc. Yves and Arnaud Lambert from Domaine de Saint-Just have been running the domaine since 2009 and are now farming it organically. They now also produce wines from each parcel. These are changes which all point to great developments for the domaine which could regain its former splendour.

Famed for the excellence of its Chenin Blanc vinification process, Château de Brézé has produced a wine renowned for its beautiful pale colour, which presages a delicate aromatic bouquet. It delivers notes of white fruit, citrus and exotic fruits. Taut, incisive and fruity, it will pair well both with white meats and cheeses with strong acidity, such as goat's cheese.
