Information
The Campi di Fonterenza domaine in Sant' Angelo in Colle (in south Montalcino, Tuscany), is run by sisters Margherita and Francesca Padovani, known as the “Brunello twins”. They bought this former farm and began by growing olive trees there, before planting their first vines in 1999 and producing their first wine in 2004. Passionate about their terroir and eager to learn, they have embarked on biodynamic vineyard management and are trying to cut back on sulphur use. These two self-taught winemakers produce very fine wines which deserve a higher profile.
This Rosso di Montalcino is a full-bodied and structured 100% Sangiovese wine produced a stone's throw from the famous Brunello di Montalcino appellation. It has an intense ruby-red aspect and notes of black berries and spices. This is a wine made to accompany dishes of real substance.
