Information
The Confuron domain was taken over in 1988 by Alain and Sophie Meunier. Situated at Premeaux-Prissey very near to Nuit-Saints-Saint-Georges, the domain belonged to Sophie's father. They decided to convert to organic viticulture. Today, the vineyards count 8 hectares and produce 12 Côte de Nuits appellations. Among them are included the prestigious Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru, Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru, Clos de Vougeot and Romanée Saint-Vivant Grands Crus. Since 2003, horses are used to work the domain's oldest parcel, Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru, which is 80 years old.
Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru Les Beaux Monts comes from a small 0.30-hectare plot planted in 1945. This cuvée is matured in wood. The nose exudes aromas of black berries (cherry, blackberry). In the mouth, the body is soft and dense, with beautiful length. This wine is a good accompaniment for roasted meat and small feathered game.
