Information
Domaine des Lambrays is located on the Côte de Nuits in Morey Saint-Denis. It was bought by the LVMH group in 2014. It owes its name to the famous Grand Cru Clos des Lambrays which it owns as a virtual monopole. Besides the Clos des Lambray, the domaine produces stunning Morey-Saint-Denis as well as white wines in Puligny-Montrachet, bringing the total area of the vineyard to 11 hectares. Yield is low (28hl / ha), harvests are done by hand and aging takes places over eighteen months in 50% new oak barriques. The entire range is exceptional. In comparison with the Burgundian elite, prices remain reasonable. But the domaine’s reputation continues to grow worldwide.
The domain has lived up to its reputation by producing another great Puligny-Montrachet. It has a deep golden appearance and a refined, complex nose. It offers attractive floral touches, nutty notes (hazelnut and almond) from its élevage, and a minerality affording it considerable elegance. Its impressive finish, texture and acidity lend it an astonishing ability to age.
