Information
Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot located in Vosne-Romanée, was created by Jack Confuron in 1964. Today it is managed by his sons, Jean-Pierre and Yves, both enologists. The vineyard extends over 11 hectares in Charmes-Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot, Echézeaux, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. The winemaking is done with entire bunches of grapes, harvested to perfect maturity, producing absolutely remarkable Burgundy wines, which are very fine, frank and complex. The grapes are harvested when very ripe but the wines are always perfectly balanced. The domaine is at the top of the Côte de Nuits.
This Gevrey-Chambertin has a bright, ruby colour that develops more of a brick shade over time. Its nose exudes beautiful aromas of cacao and grilled hazelnut, followed by notes of liquorice, meat, and flowers. On the palate, its attack is mellow with a tense body that retains a certain freshness thanks to its minerality. Overall it is well-structured and well-balanced with a persistent finish.
