Information
Alvaro Palacios and his nephew Ricardo Pérez Palacios established this highly reputed Spanish domaine. Alvaro Palacios is one of the most renowned winegrowers in th Iberian peninsula. In 1998, the two men fell in love with an almost inaccessible, low-yielding vineyard high up in an isolated mountain village. Motivated by a philosophy akin to the Burgundy ethos, it produces single varietals. The range includes “grands crus” which are made from the most inaccessible parcels of vines.
This wine takes its name from a vineyard parcel in the village of Corullón, located at an altitude of 1000 metres, on the same site as the property. It is matured in French oak for 16 months and has been crafted with lengthy ageing in mind. On the nose, it reveals complex red fruit and roast aromas. The palate stands out for its elegance, power and complexity, all driven by a superb mineral quality. This wine will enhance strongly flavoured dishes to perfection.
