Information
The Mommessin house was founded in the south of Burgundy, in Mâcon where Cluny monks had planted vines. In 1865, Jean-Marie Mommessin settled in Grange-Saint-Pierre, and the key of the Abbey of Cluny became the house's symbol. It has since been moved to Quincié-en-Beaujolais. The house strives for excellence and top-quality wines, selecting only the best grapes and finest parcels, working closely with the winemakers. The Beaujolais produced by Mommessin have a Burgundian influence, with the partial destemming and oak-élevage. Delicious!
The beautiful dark garnet robe of this Moulin- à-Vent reveals elegant floral (rose, peony) and fruit (cherry, plum) notes as well as liquorice. The mouth is voluptuous and the finish persistent. This flavourful wine is one to enjoy young with feathered game.
