Information
The Mommessin house was founded in the south of Burgundy, in Mâcon where Cluny monks had planted vines. In 1865, Jean-Marie Mommessin settled in Grange-Saint-Pierre, and the key of the Abbey of Cluny became the house's symbol. It has since been moved to Quincié-en-Beaujolais. The house strives for excellence and top-quality wines, selecting only the best grapes and finest parcels, working closely with the winemakers. The Beaujolais produced by Mommessin have a Burgundian influence, with the partial destemming and oak-élevage. Delicious!
This wine has a ruby red robe and a relatively open nose with aromas of red fruits such as strawberry and raspberry. The spiced and floral nuances add another layer. The mouth is clean, dense and generous. The tannins are present and will melt away with age. We recommend cellaring for three to ten years and serving with roasted poultry or game terrine.
