About the producer

In the Vietti family since the 19th century, four generations have successfully brought their estate to top of its game in Piedmont. Alfredo Currado's innovation has attracted fans from all over the world. While the trend of standardization of wines was peaking, the Vietti estate seized a golden opportunity to stand out from the crowd by offering very distinctive wines, single-parcel cuvées, and a white wine made from arnéis, an indigenous white grape that had fallen into obscurity.
Today, the Vietti estate is managed by Alfredo and Luciana Currado's son Luca and his wife Elena. They aim to further the Langhe and Alba terroirs to the best of their ability through meticulous and hard work.
Check out their beautiful wines, the Barbaresco or Barolo will do wonders after decanting or few years in your cellar.

About the wine

Vietti, a family domain for four generations, has come to the fore over time thanks to its characterful wines. This Barbaresco is the perfect example. The Nebbiolo grapes making up the cuvée benefit from perfect exposure to the south, good altitude on clay- and chalk-rich soils, and close proximity to the local river that ensures a good level of ripeness. In the cellar, alcoholic fermentation takes place in open, steel vats, and the rack and return method is applied every day for three weeks. Malolactic fermentation happens in oak casks. The wine is then matured in steel vats and oak casks for 30 months. The Nebbiolo grape expresses itself through a lovely garnet red hue, giving off notes of ripe cherry, rose petals, and gentle spices. Structured by ripe tannins, this cuvée lingers on the palate. It will pair well with characterful dishes like game, but think about ageing it for a while beforehand…
