Berncasteler Doctor is an outstanding German wine. It is produced from 80-year-old Riesling vines that give it a beautiful, spicy structure. The vineyard’s south-westerly aspect guarantees it the best of the sunlight.
About the Producer Dr. H. Thanisch
The Thanisch family boasts a long winemaking pedigree. It acquired the iconic Berncasteler Doctor vineyard in 1882, which is possibly one of the most coveted domaines in Germany today. Old vintages are sought-after worldwide. In 1986, a Berncasteler Doctor Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese 1921 went under the hammer for 11,200 Deutschmarks (approximately 15,000 euros today).
