Barolo Brunate Riserva Speciale Giuseppe Rinaldi 1992
The wine
Rinaldi is an ancestral domain of the prestigious Barolo appellation whose origins date back five generations. Battista Rinaldi currently runs the property, bringing together tradition and innovation in a way that respects the earth he’s so dedicated to. This cuvée comes from one of the appellation’s finest crus, Brunate, which was acquired by Battista’s grandfather. This land is south and south-east facing with a particular richness in chalk soil. Made to be aged, this wine has a deep, ruby colour with an aromatic bouquet of small, black fruit, liquorice and gentle spices. The tannins are silky and will pair well with characterful dishes. Something like a truffle risotto or a slow-cooked lamb would go down a treat.
About the Producer Giuseppe Rinaldi
The current owner of the domain, Giuseppe Rinaldi, can trace his viticultural origins back five generations. It was his grandfather, with whom he shares his name, who founded the estate in the 1920s when he bought some of the best vines in the Barolo appellation (Brunate, Cannubi, Ravera and Le Coste). After this, his son Battista undertook a significant task in developing the domain’s vinification techniques. Today, it is his grandson Giuseppe who, keeping to tradition and close to his terroir, manages the estate with great skill.
