Intensity
An abundant, mature Bourgogne with well-balanced notes of oak that remains lively and fresh up to the final notes.
More infoThe Chardonnay in this cuvée are cultivated on a plot planted in 2016 on a hill to the south of the village of Fuissé. The clay-limestone earth slopes slightly to the east, with a small layer of clay of about 15 to 20cm above a layer of pebbles which is directly atop the limestone bedrock. The 250 square metres of vines are bordered by large trees and thus protected from the wind. They enjoy warm summer weather and cooled by the shade of the trees, perfect for optimal ripening. The organic grapes are harvested by hand and immediately pressed. The juice ferments in tanks and used barrels, and then ages on lees for around 12 months. The wine is bottled in the autumn of the following year, without fining or filtering.
Bourgogne du Sud displays a bright gold colour with aromas of peach, almond milk and fresh cream, tied together with a hint of oak. The mouthfeel is abundant, with a lovely freshness up to the final notes.

About the Producer Château des Rontets
The Château des Rontets, situated in Fuissé, is a family domain that was founded in the 19th century. It has been in the same family since 1870. The domain is now run by Claire Gazeau (great grandaughter of Francois Varambon who initially bought the property) and her husband Fabio Montrasi . It is situated on a plot of land of 5.6 hectacres at the top of a hill known locally as Les Rontets that looks out over the village of Fuissé. The estate has another plot of 0.5 hectacres in Pierrefolle, as well as another half hectacre in Côte de Besset in the commune of Saint-Amour. Since 2005 they have had organic certification. This domain has risen to a very high standard. Anything from Château Rontet is a sound investment.
