Domaine La Tuque Bel Air 2016

The wine

This cuvée is made from sustainably grown vines in order to reduce the use of pesticides. On the Pierre Lavau family property, 4 of the 15 hectares are dedicated to Domaine La Tuque Bel Air. The vines are grown in the clay-chalk soils of the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. The vinification is carried out in concrete vats. Maturation takes 12-14 months in oak barrels (20% new wood). The Merlot grapes bring complexity and body to the wine, and the Cabernet Sauvignon brings structure. This is an elegant and mineral wine that can be kept in the cellar for up to 5 years. Its nose gives off fruity notes of blackcurrant and blackberry, as well as a hint of oak that comes from the new barrels used for ageing.
