Haut-Sarpe is a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru mainly on a clay-limestone soil. The two appellations Saint-Emilion and Saint-Emilion Grand Cru are the same appellation area, but the specifications of the second are sharper especially on yields (40 hl/hectare). The second wine of this estate is called Vieux Sarpe. It is mainly composed of the young vines of the property.
