Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Boudots Jean-Jacques Confuron 2011
The wine
Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Aux Boudots comes from a 0.30-hectare plot planted in 1950, and is matured in wood. It presents aromas of black berries. The palate is characterised by its roundness, suppleness and long, full-bodied finish. It is a great wine for aging that goes very well with small feathered game (quails with grapes) or red meats (rib steak).
About the Producer Jean-Jacques Confuron
The Confuron domain was taken over in 1988 by Alain and Sophie Meunier. Situated at Premeaux-Prissey very near to Nuit-Saints-Saint-Georges, the domain belonged to Sophie's father. They decided to convert to organic viticulture. Today, the vineyards count 8 hectares and produce 12 Côte de Nuits appellations. Among them are included the prestigious Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru, Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru, Clos de Vougeot and Romanée Saint-Vivant Grands Crus. Since 2003, horses are used to work the domain's oldest parcel, Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru, which is 80 years old.
