Gevrey-Chambertin En Champs Olivier Guyot (Domaine de) 2007
The wine
Olivier Guyot's Gevrey-Chambertin Les Champs is produced from a limestone plot with a good proportion of clayey marls, giving a rounded, powerful wine. The sixty-year-old vines give the wine its rich aspect, with an emphasis on red fruit. The finish offers a spicy touch, creating a marvellous effect. This wine should be drunk after about 8 years.
About the Producer Olivier Guyot
The Guyot are one of the oldest families in Marsannay-la-Côte. Louis Guyot established the domaine at the beginning of the last century. Generations have succeeded one another and since 1990 Olivier Guyot has managed this 15-hectare vineyard which is divided between Marsannay-la-Côte and Gevrey-Chambertin. The vines are cultivated in a responsible, sustainable way and ploughing is done on horseback.
