Clos de la Vieille Eglise 2011
The wine
Clos de la Vieille Eglise offers an intense nose of dark fruits and spices and is characterised by remarkable power and length on the palate. It enjoys wonderful freshness thanks to a high proportion of Cabernet Franc included in the blend. This wine is perfectly suited to ageing.
About the Producer Clos de la Vieille Eglise
The Trocard family's wine-making heritage can be traced back to 1620. The estate has significantly expanded over the centuries, and is today overseen by Jean-Louis Trocard and his children, who ensure that ancestral tradition and expertise are preserved. In the heart of the Pomerol appellation, grown in clay and gravelley soil (Pomerol's 'golden arc'), the Clos de la Vieille Eglise is aged for over a year and a half in new barrels, lending it dense texture and voluptuous tannins.
