Crozes-Hermitage Cuvée Christophe Rémizières (Domaine des) 2007
The wine
This Cuvée Christophe is made from 70-year-old Syrah vines cultivated on clay and limestone soils. The wine is fermented the traditional way in temperature-controlled, stainless steel and concrete vats and matured for 15 months in barriques (70% new wood 30% second fill). It has an intense ruby colour and a powerful aromatic bouquet. Its elegant tannic structure and length are an indication of its good ageing potential.
About the Producer Domaine des Remizières
The family Domaine des Rémizières has been passed down for generations and will no doubt stay in the family for many more. In just a few years the domaine has changed significantly, passing from 4 ha of vines whose grapes were sold to the local negoçiant, to 35 ha and vinification at the domaine. Today, Emilie and her brother Christophe manage the parcels of vines that span over several communes: Mercurol, Crozes-Hermitage, Tain L'Hermitage, Larnage, La Roche de Glun, Saint-Jean de Muzols and Vion.
