Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru Bruno Clair (Domaine) 2007
The wine
Bruno Clair’s Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze has aromas of dark fruit (blackcurrant), spice and liquorice. This is a concentrated wine, with tight tannins when young which soften to express extraordinary finesse after ageing for 10 years. Time is needed for this magnificent wine to be able to reveal its complexity and elegance to the full.
About the Producer Bruno Clair
Bruno Clair is the grandson of Joseph Clair (from Domaine Clair Daü). He founded his own domain in 1979 in Marsannay before later inheriting some of the parcels from his grandfather's domain. The estate is thus made up of myriad, high-quality parcels, notably in Gevrey-Chambertin and Morey-Saint-Denis where some of the appellation's most prized vines are grown, both in red and white. Bruno Clair also cares for vineyards in Pernand-Vergelesses, Aloxe-Corton, and Fixin.
Excellent maturation and precise vinifications help to best express these magnificent terroirs. The wines made here are very precise and fine, with no lack of elegance or intensity.
This range is broad and varied; the rosé and Bourgogne blanc cuvées will go nicely at an aperitif, whilst the grands and premiers crus can be served with your very best recipes after a few years in the cellar.
