Meursault 1er Cru Charmes Domaine du Pavillon - Albert Bichot 2007
The wine
The "Les Charmes" climat is one of the best in the whole Meursault appellation. The soils are of clay-limestone type, producing wines which are generous but with a perceptible minerality. Domaine du Pavillon's Les Charmes Meursault premier cru should be drunk after 5-15 years' cellaring.
About the Producer Domaine du Pavillon - Albert Bichot
Maison Albert Bichot was created in Burgundy in 1831. The famous Chardonnay wine traders acquired many plots throughout Burgundy. Its fabulous vineyards are divided between several areas which have autonomous teams and cellars. Maison Bichot thus owns the Long-Depaquit domaine in Chablis, the Clos Frantin domaine in Nuits-Saint-Georges (as well as the Château Gris on a monopole of the village) and the Adélie domaine at Mercurey. Finally, on the Côte de Beaune, at Pommard, it owns the Domaine du Pavilion, mentioned here. This includes 17 hectares of vines, 8 of which are for white crus. The domaine follows a biological approach to vines with a respect for nature and a control of yields. The winery of the domaine is located in the middle of the Clos des Ursulines in Pommard
