Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes Château de La Tour 2011
The wine
The vines used for Château de la Tour’s Cuvée Vieilles Vignes du Clos Vougeot were planted in 1910. To mark its centenary, the Hommage à Jean Morin cuvée was created using the finest grape clusters from each vine. The wine’s very distinguished, well-blended tannins take it up another level.
About the Producer Château de La Tour
The domain has been owned by the François Labet family since 1870, and its vines are over 50 years old. Few domains embody Clos de Vougeot as well as Château de la Tour. Indeed, it is the only domains to be located in the Clos and is one of its main owners. The domain is now advised by Sylvain Pataille for its winemaking. The annual production is 22,000 bottles of Cuvée Classique and 3,000 bottles of Cuvée Vielles Vignes in good vintages. The "Hommage à Jean Morin" cuvée was created in 2010 to celebrate the centenary of the old vines of the domain.
