Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Craipillot Confuron-Cotetidot 2009
The wine
The harvest is undertaken as late as possible in order to produce a wine with such powerful aromas. This cuvée expresses its origins with elegance and style. Its aromas of ripe cherry, wood and liquorice are a perfect translation of the plot’s exposure to the sun. Equally, its strong structure on the palate comes from its vinification in old barrels. It has a mouth-wateringly juicy finish, making it perfect to serve with a dish like light game.
About the Producer Confuron-Cotetidot
Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot located in Vosne-Romanée, was created by Jack Confuron in 1964. Today it is managed by his sons, Jean-Pierre and Yves, both enologists. The vineyard extends over 11 hectares in Charmes-Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot, Echézeaux, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. The winemaking is done with entire bunches of grapes, harvested to perfect maturity, producing absolutely remarkable Burgundy wines, which are very fine, frank and complex. The grapes are harvested when very ripe but the wines are always perfectly balanced. The domaine is at the top of the Côte de Nuits.
