IGP Côtes Catalanes Olivier Pithon Maccabeu 2015
The wine
This cuvée is made from very old 70 year-old vines, featuring a golden yellow shade that shimmers and glows in the light. Its nose is packed full of toasted brioche, apricot and floral aromas, giving way to a generous, full sensation on the palate, characterised by great texture. A fantastic white wine!
About the Producer Olivier Pithon
Olivier Pithon is the grandson of an Anjou wine grower, and also has a grower for a grandson in the Coteaux du Layon. Having trained among the family vines, and after completing various spells at in other vineyards (including several years in the Bordeaux region), Olivier Pithon settled in Calce, near Perpignan, in 2001. His vineyard, covering just over eight hectares, is farmed biodynamically. Olivier Pithon's wines are authentic, direct and very expressive.
