Lot presentation

Barolo DOCG Rocche Lorenzo Accomasso 2005

The wine

This cuvée is made from the classic Barolo varietal, Nebbiolo (100%). This Italian wine comes from domain Lorenzo Accomasso in La Morra, Piedmont. The terroir here is rich in clay, and the work in the vineyard is done by hand in the old-fashioned way. The grapes are vinified with little intervention with indigenous yeasts and only a small amount of sulphur added. In the glass this cuvée has a ruby colour with violet hints in its youth. Its nose gives off aromas of cherry and liquorice. On the palate it has remarkable length carried by flavours of red and black fruits. An exceptional cuvée balanced between delicacy and character. Serve this wine at 18°C with a dish like beef bourguignon or grilled duck with apple compote.
