Côtes du Jura Varron Buronfosse 2020
The wine
Peggy and Jean-Pascal Buronfosse are two exacting winegrowers who produce very pure, natural wines, at their property just next to Jean-François Ganevat. The property's Varron Chardonnay is made from old vines planted around 60 years ago. Ageing for 18 months in wood gives a patina to this supple, full-bodied wine, with a subtle Burgundy style.
About the Producer Buronfosse
Peggy and Jean-Pascal Buronfosse are two exacting winemakers making pure and very natural wines. The domain (situated just next door to that of the famous Jean-François Ganevat) is small and entirely organic: their 5 hectares is laid out to Chardonnay and Savignin for the whites (90% of their production) and Pinot Noir, Poulsard and Trousseau for the reds. In the winery they try to interfere as little as possible with nature. The wines from Domaine Buronfosse are subsequently an honest and elegant expression of their terroir with plenty of character. A true rising star of the Jura.
