La Vigne aux Gamins Alain Thiénot Cuvée de 3613 2007
The wine
An unusual cuvée in the domain, La Vigne aux Gamins is a single grape variety of sixty-year-old Chardonnay grown on a terroir which is classified as a grand cru. On tasting, it has great freshness coated by delicate notes of dried fruit and white flowers. Extremely persistent on the palate, this champagne lingers on notes of citrus fruit and honey. It can be enjoyed both as an aperitif and when enjoyed with refined and flavoursome dishes.
About the Producer Alain Thiénot
After 20 years working as a champagne merchant, Alain Thiénot decided to create his own champagne house. In 1985, he set up his own project thanks to the help from the contacts that he'd made with nearby producers. This family house, now run by his children Stanislas and Garance, prioritises quality over quantity and creativity over conservatism. Expressive wines from one of the finest producers in the region.
