Pluscarden Valley 40 years 1961 Silver Silver Seal Whisky Company Single Barrel Limited Edition 170 Bottles Special Reserve

The wine

A Miltonduff distilled in 1961 and bottled in 2001 by Silver Seal after 40 years of maturation. A limited edition of 170 bottles. Bottlings of Miltonduff are often found at independent bottlers under the name Pluscarden Valley, in tribute to the valley where the distillery and an abbey are found. A limited edition of 170 bottles.

About the Producer Pluscarden Valley

Located in the Pluscarden Valley in the north of Speyside, Miltonduff finally began operating legally in 1824 after many years of illicit distillation. At the end of the 19th century, it was one of Scotland’‘s main producers. The distillery was bought by Hiram Walker in 1936 and Pernod Ricard in 2005. Miltonduff’‘s fresh and light spirit is a key ingredient in the Ballantine’‘s blend, with single malts remaining fairly rare, except for a handful of bottlings entrusted to Gordon & MacPhail and independent bottlings. Between 1964 and 1981, the distillery used a pair of Lomond stills to produce the Mosstowie whisky, which can still be found with a small number of independent bottlers.
