About the Producer Laberdolive
A family-run business for some seven generations, Pierre Laberdolive has inherited an exceptional estate that he has dedicated to excellence for several decades. Located in the Douze Valley in the region of Armagnac (South-West France), the Jaurrey estate in Labastide produces exceptional Armagnacs (wine brandy). The estate uses a wide variety of grape varieties, including Baco, Colombard, Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche (distilled and aged separately). The Bas-Armagnac appellation is located in the western part of the Gers and the Landes, in a terroir composed of sandy soils (tawny sands). Laberdolive Bas-Armagnac is created according to traditional methods that include a handful of key stages. First, a white wine must be produced, then it must be distilled. Ageing lasts several years and takes place in oak barrels. This creates fruity, spicy and beautifully round Bas-Armagnacs. Laberdolive offers a rich range of vintages.
