More info

Château Grand Village, located near Fronsac, is the signature wine of the Guinaudeau family, who have owned the estate since 1980. Here, the Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon vines are encouraged to draw the nutrients they need to flourish from the clay and limestone soils through sustainable viticultural practices. The majority of these vines were replanted when the estate was taken over. Planted at a density of over 5,000 vines per hectare, they benefit from excellent drainage. The wine is made with great care and each plot is vinified separately to preserve the identity of the terroir. The wine is vinified in small vats in a refurbished winery.
Château Grand Village offers excellent ageing potential. So, don’t open it too young, as it may be a little closed at first. That said, its delicate tannins, juicy fruit and length are enlivened by a pleasant freshness that brings energy with it.

About the Producer Château Grand Village

Château Grand Village is nestled in the heart of the Bordeaux winegrowing landscape, in Mouillac, alongside some of the region’s finest appellations. Sylvie and Jacques Guinaudeau took over the domain in 1979 and cultivate the 15 hectares of vines on clay-limestone soils with great passion. Helped by their son Baptiste and his wife Julie, they apply sustainable farming practices in the vineyards. Aware of today’s environmental challenges and with a view to protecting biodiversity, they cultivate each parcel with unique care, according to their needs, to allow each parcel to express its personality. Unsurprisingly, in the winery, vinification involves very little intervention, and sulphur is added in minute quantities to allow the fruit to fully express all its aromas naturally. It is in this privileged and authentic context that the domain produces exceptional vintages, reflecting a unique terroir sublimated by meticulous traditional expertise.
