Information
Domaine des Lambrays is located on the Côte de Nuits in Morey Saint-Denis. It was bought by the LVMH group in 2014. It owes its name to the famous Grand Cru Clos des Lambrays which it owns as a virtual monopole. Besides the Clos des Lambray, the domaine produces stunning Morey-Saint-Denis as well as white wines in Puligny-Montrachet, bringing the total area of the vineyard to 11 hectares. Yield is low (28hl / ha), harvests are done by hand and aging takes places over eighteen months in 50% new oak barriques. The entire range is exceptional. In comparison with the Burgundian elite, prices remain reasonable. But the domaine’s reputation continues to grow worldwide.
Clos des Lambrays is one of the five Grand Crus of the commune of Morey-Saint-Denis, and produces wines that are probably the most typical. Domaine des Lambrays owns almost all of Clos des Lambrays, only a very small part belongs to Domaine Taupenot-Merme. Full-bodied, concentrated and remarkably elegant, the Clos des Lambrays has a rare and complex aroma: notes of blackberry, blueberry and raspberry, and as it ages, undertones of truffle, spices, liquorice, violet and undergrowth. Its ageing potential is generally above 20 years.
