Château la Violette
Information
About the producer

The renaissance of Château La Violette can be attributed to the late Catherine Péré-Vergé. Situated on a dream terroir in the very heart of Pomerol, this estate of just 1.8 hectares now produces one of the appellation's most sought-after wines. With production limited to just 400 cases, this is unfortunately an ultra-rare wine.

About the wine

Unsurprisingly, the wine owes its name to its remarkable aroma of violets. This 100% Merlot is matured for an average of 24 months in tanks and casks (60% new wood each year), and presents great depth. In addition to violet, blackberry, blackcurrant and raspberry are also present. This olfactory signature alone is enough to ensure the wine's uniqueness. The mouthfeel is all about refinement and precision. A wine for drinking after 5-25 years' keeping.
