Information
The quality of Château Villegeorge's wines was already well established in the 18th century. Lucien Lurton, a great connoisseur of Médoc terroir, recognised the quality of the deep gravel in the vineyard, comparable to that found in Margaux. He acquired the property in 1973 and the quality of the wines that he produced confirmed that he had made an excellent choice. The grapes from this 15-hectare vineyard are vinified according to traditional methods and aged in oak barrels before being bottled at the château.
Château Villegeorge has a beautiful dark ruby colour, a spicy, silky nose and a palate which reveals well-integrated, elegant flavours. Overall it presents a delightfully well-rounded character with great finesse.
