Information
Haut-Sarpe is a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru mainly on a clay-limestone soil. The two appellations Saint-Emilion and Saint-Emilion Grand Cru are the same appellation area, but the specifications of the second are sharper especially on yields (40 hl/hectare). The second wine of this estate is called Vieux Sarpe. It is mainly composed of the young vines of the property.
Château Haut Sarpe's second wine, this vineyard is treated in the same way as its older brother. The resulting wine is elegant and well-structured. Revealing good tannins, it is powerful and balanced, presenting aromas of black fruit with delightful roasted, woody notes.
