Information
About the producer

Owned by Axa Millésimes, Château Petit Village is surrounded by the châteaux of Certan de May, La Conseillante and Bearegard. The vineyard consists of a single block of 10.5 hectares, planted on the upper part of the Pomerol plateau. The terroir is made up of deep gravel coated with light clay on a subsoil of iron-rich clay, or alios, characteristic of Pomerol's great wines. The soil is uniform throughout the vineyard. The Axa Millésimes group has carried out major modernisation work in the winery with the assistance of consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt.

About the wine

The wines are vinified plot by plot and then aged for about 15 months in oak barrels that are 70% renewed each year. Rich and concentrated, they are intense and full-bodied, and have an excellent aging potential.
