Information
In the very east of the Loire, nestled between meadows and hills, domain Pellé makes wines in the Menetou-Salon appellation. Created in 1959, it lies on terroirs of marl, clay and Kimmeridgian limestone. The domain farms its vines sustainably, tilling the soils and keeping its yields low. Exemplary wines with impressive minerality.
Plantation was launched in 2003 by the Pierre Ferrand cognac house, which was founded in 1989. The house sources its casks from various distilleries and brokers but also owns the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados (WIRD) and has shares in National Rums of Jamaica, meaning it has exclusive access to Long Pond and Clarendon rums and plays a dual role as both a bottler and producer.
