Information
Château de l’Echarderie is located in one of Anjou’s most emblematic crus, the Quarts de Chaume appellation. The Laffourcade family name has been associated with this Loire Valley terroir for more than five generations. Nestling on both banks of the Layon river, the six hectares of vines, on average 25 years old, grow on Precambrian schist soils. André Laffourcade became a landowner in 1958 and nurtured each parcel with great dedication before his son Pascal took over in 1970. Pascal is responsible for all aspects of winemaking at Château de l’Echarderie, perpetuating his father’s work and philosophy. The appellation imposes strict regulations that must be observed in the winery as well as in the vineyard, to guarantee wines of the highest quality, reflecting an exceptional terroir and unique expertise.
