Information
Domaine Christophe Buisson extends over 7 hectares, 3 of which are in Saint-Romain. It produces red and white wines from vines aged on average 30 years old. The vineyard is worked without weed killers or pesticides, and the treatments used are AB certified, i.e. organically grown. The domaine has been Ecocert certified since 2012. Christophe Buisson is basically a self-made wine man. Destined to be a mason like his father and his brother, he left the family business to enter the world of wine, first as a broker, then by renting a few plots of vines from 1996 onwards (after studying Professional Farming at the CFPPA of Beaune). Now, assisted by his wife Laurence, a trained enologist, he produces fresh, fruity, red wines that can keep for about ten years, and round, full white wines
The charming village of Saint Romain is home to a renowned vineyard which never ceases to pay tribute to this exceptional terroir by producing authentic, fragrant wines. In the vineyard, the winemaker works meticulously, respecting the principles of organic farming. This allows the 35-year-old Chardonnay vines to draw all the nutrients they require from the soil naturally. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand, sorted and transported to the winery, where they are carefully vinified. The cuvée is unique in that it is matured for 18 months in new oak casks before being bottled.
The bright pale yellow colour reveals a bouquet where white flowers and ripe fruit aromas mingle with slightly woody notes. The full, rich palate reveals a remarkable balance, culminating in a lively, slightly acidulous finish.
