Information
This family domaine has very beautiful parcels of land in the village of Gevrey in particular, with the premier cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques, and grand crus, Mazis, Charmes and Chambertin. The domaine’s wines are powerful and require a few years aging to reveal their full potential.
Gevrey-Chambertin, the legendary Burgundy appellation, has been celebrated for its wines for over 1,000 years. The church, which controlled the cultivation of the vines at the time, began to shape this renowned terroir as early as the Middle Ages. Nestled at an altitude of 100 to 380 metres, the Pinot Noir vines thrive on marley soils with ideal exposure. The estate cultivates its vines following sustainable viticulture methods, favouring the use of natural fertilisers and banning all chemical inputs. The Pinot Noir grapes are hand-picked at optimum ripeness. The traditional vinification process is rounded off by around 20 months’ cask ageing before the wine is bottled.
The dark ruby-red colour reveals a bewitching bouquet brimming with intense fragrances of red and black fruit. On the palate, a beautiful substance emerges, both deep and supple, leading to a perfectly balanced, fragrant finish.
