Information
Established by Edward Delagrange-Bachelet in the 1930s, this Burgundy vineyard has expanded steadily over the years, largely as a result of the acquisition of plots in Bâtard-Montrachet in 1952 and Montrachet in 1978. These exceptional terroirs, consisting of clay and limestone situated at an altitude of around 250 metres, allow each variety of vine to develop at its best. Sustainable, balanced viticulture practices ensure that each vine draws all the nutrients it requires from the rich soil. The story has continued since 1980, when the vineyard parcels were combined with the vines of Domaine Gagnard-Delagrange to form Domaine Blain-Gagnard. Managed by Jean-Marc Blain, a native of the Sancerrois region, and his wife Claudine, who comes from a prominent family of winegrowers, the new domain operates with dedication, adhering to the strict principles of organic farming, and is currently awaiting certification.
