Information
Francesco Versio was barely 30 years old when he became Technical Director of the iconic Italian vineyard Bruno Giacosa, a symbol of Italian excellence that includes vines in the prestigious Barolo and Barbaresco appellations. Over the years, he learned all the secrets of Barbaresco, which led him to serenely take over his grandfather’s old vines in Neive in 2012. His vineyard includes two parcels of old vines, one established on the San Cristoforo cru planted in 1969, the other, even older, spread across the Currà vineyard. Perfectly positioned facing south-west, the vines enjoy a perfect balance of sunshine, guaranteeing grapes of the highest quality. After harvesting the grapes at optimum ripeness, traditional vinification techniques produce exceptionally fragrant wines. The domain is undoubtedly one of the most promising rising stars in the region.
