Information
Founded in the late 1960s by Mackinlay, a subsidiary of Scottish & Newcastle Breweries, the distillery was bought by Invergordon Distillers in 1985, Campbell Distillers in 1989 and then Billy Walker in 2017. It was under the latter that the distillery began releasing its own bottlings of single malts, with previous owners preferring to focus on blends. In addition to the new core range composed of a 10 Year Old Cask Strength, a 12 Year Old, 15 Year Old and 18 Year Old, the distillery also regularly bottles limited editions and single casks.
Bottled in tribute to master blender Billy Walker, a key figure in the history of Scotch, this single malt is the distillery’’s first peated version. It was matured for four years in bourbon, rye and new oak casks. The final opus in the Past, Present and Future series, it was bottled in 2022.
