Information
In 1838, the Harel family set itself the task of putting Mauritius’ name on the map as a leading producer of sugar cane and set its sights on the area in the north of the island. The project took shape the following year when they were able to acquire the Belle Vue estate in Pamplemousses and its accompanying 7,000 hectares of cane. The distillery as we know it today was created in 1932 under the name Grays Distilling Co. It was not until 2005 that the distillery created a range to showcase its expertise with the launch of the New Grove brand in partnership with the group Quartier Français.
A single cask distilled in 2007, this limited edition of 385 bottles was aged in Limousin oak casks and bottled to mark LMDW’’s 60th anniversary.
